Armadillos Win at Antelope Valley, 7-4
|
The Houston Armadillos knocked off the Antelope Valley Raptors, 7-4, at Old League Park. Luis Santiago, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Houston won. The designated hitter was 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Robinson García earned the win for Houston. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 11 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 7-1. Tomás Alarcon was credited with the save for Houston, his 14th of the season.
Santiago came through with some timely hitting for Houston. With the score 2-2 in the top of the fifth and two down, Santiago hit a 1-2 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 5-2, Houston.
"I felt good up there," said Santiago. "I saw the ball well."
The win boosts the Armadillos to 21-22. The loss puts the Raptors at 22-21.
