Reapers Prevail, 2-0, Over New Orleans
|
The Chicago Reapers picked up a win at Old League Park, knocking off the New Orleans Crawdaddy's, 2-0. Starting pitcher Toyoshige Takahashi, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 6.2 innings, Takahashi surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Júlio López, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Lawrence Connolly chipped in for Chicago with a solo home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Takahashi said.
The Crawdaddy's, at 40-37, have lost 5 straight games.
