Wilmington picked up a win at Old League Park, bumping off the Atlanta Hurricanes, 4-3. Pitcher José Rivera was a major reason the Atlantics emerged victorious. The triumph puts Wilmington at 53-36 for the season.

Roy Nickerson was the walk-off hero for Wilmington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Atlantics pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I was a little disappointed," said Atlanta manager Frank Ferrara. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
